What a research pass covers

A research pass is a structured review of one app or platform. Depending on availability, it covers the company behind the product, the official website and its security posture, app-store presence, commercial terms such as deposits and fees, and the withdrawal process as documented.

The Research Coverage strip at the top of each profile shows, area by area, what was actually documented for that app — an empty dash means the information could not be documented, not that it does not exist.

The sources we consider

Every claim on a profile should be traceable to a typed source. We distinguish:

Sources are recorded as evidence items with a date checked and a verification status, and are listed on the profile under Evidence & Sources.

How we label information

Not all information carries the same weight. APPProof separates:

Verified information

Confirmed against a primary source we can point to, such as an official registry or the platform’s own current documentation.

Observed information

Directly observed by an editor (for example a live app-store listing) but not independently confirmed.

User-submitted information

Experiences sent in by readers. Always labelled “User Report”, always moderated, never presented as independently verified fact.

Editorial interpretation

Our reading of the documented facts — clearly written as analysis, not as evidence.

Unverified claims

Statements we could not confirm. We either do not publish them, or we publish them explicitly marked as unverified.

What the research statuses mean

Each profile carries exactly one research status. These are the current definitions:

Information Available

Core company, product and withdrawal information has been documented.

Limited Information

Some information could be confirmed, but important details are still missing.

Warning Signals Found

One or more documented warning signals were identified during research.

Significant Concerns

Multiple serious concerns were documented. Proceed with extreme caution.

Unable to Verify

We could not verify enough information to document this platform yet.

How risk signals are handled

A risk signal is a documented observation that historically correlates with user harm — for example anonymous ownership, guaranteed-return promises or withdrawal complaints. Each signal carries a severity (info, low, medium, high) and is shown individually on the profile.

Risk signals are context, not verdicts. A signal describes what was found on a specific date; it is never a legal determination, and the absence of signals is not a guarantee of safety.

How user reports are handled

Readers can report experiences with a platform — withdrawals, deposits, support, account or security issues. Every report enters a moderation queue and is reviewed by an editor before it appears. Published reports are labelled “User Report” and describe individual experiences only.

How corrections work

Company representatives, users and researchers can suggest updates from any app profile (“Suggest an update”) or request new research on the Request Research page. Corrections enter the same moderation queue as everything else — public content never changes automatically.

How research dates work

“Last checked” is the date an editor explicitly re-verified the profile’s information. It changes only through a deliberate re-check action, never as a side effect of unrelated edits. The research history on each profile lists the actions that were taken, with dates.

What APPProof does not do

• We do not publish ratings, scores or “trust percentages”.
• We do not call platforms “scams” or “legit” — we document what could and could not be verified.
• We do not provide financial advice or recommendations to invest.
• We do not accept payment to change, remove or suppress research.
